Glass paint mixed with water and gum Arabic is wonderful for many techniques, but it's not so good for shadows.
That's why for shadows we often change instead to paint mixed with propylene glycol.
This combination is excellent because it allows you to shade at your own pace and make adjustments as you go along.
You can also use it to add details or give new shape to your trace lines.
All these additional lines and shadows sit on top of unfired glass paint mixed with water and gum Arabic. When you’ve finished shading with glycol, you fire your painted glass just once.
